Press Release: Launch of the INNOVATORS Academy in Morocco
Digital Skills in Education: From Vision to Implementation

Rabat, April 16, 2025 – On April 14, the first INNOVATORS Academy in Morocco officially kicked off. This initiative is the result of a strategic three-way collaboration between the Moroccan Ministry of Education, AtlasBridges Diaspora Platform, and INNOVATORS. The academy focuses on strengthening digital skills in education, with the central theme of “Digital Skills in Education: from Vision to Implementation.”
A Partnership Focused on Sustainable Educational Development
The collaboration is based on a shared ambition to make Morocco’s education system future-proof and to embed digital literacy structurally within educational policy and daily practice. By combining government efforts, educational innovation, and international expertise, sustainable solutions and practical implementations are being developed.
Turning Vision into Action
From April 14 to 17, 2025, the INNOVATORS Academy offers an intensive, hands-on program for education professionals, school leaders, and decision-makers. Over these four days, participants, under the guidance of experts from the Netherlands, are introduced to the latest insights, methodologies, and applications in the field of digital skills in education.
Key themes covered include Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, STEAM, digital security, privacy and blended learning. The program focuses on translating visions into concrete and applicable solutions within the classroom and at the school level, directly contributing to the integration of digital skills into Morocco’s education system.
Official Opening and Engagement
The academy’s opening was conducted by the Dutch Ambassador Morocco Dirk Jan Nieuwenhuis, Zaher Hajji, Division Head of the National Laboratory for Digital Resources, Ilco Den Ouden, CEO of the INNOVATORS, Said El Amraoui, Representative of Atlas Bridges, Hafida, Makioui, Fatiha Agrida, Guus Roelofs en Christa Klop. The first reactions from the education sector have been highly positive; teachers and school leaders expressed their eagerness to get started with the insights gained during the opening sessions.

The INNOVATORS Academy marks the beginning of a broader collaboration between the three partners, focused on the structural strengthening of digital skills within Morocco's education system.
